Hydrocarbons in Quartz (Commonly Mis-sold as Powellite in Quartz)
Selling fast - only a few pieces left
Each piece is unique - the crystal you receive may differ slightly from the one(s) pictured.
This hydrocarbon-included quartz offers something a little different for your crystal collection. Natural inclusions within the quartz give it character and provide fascinating details to explore with a magnifying glass.
Under suitable UV lighting, hydrocarbon inclusions can fluoresce, revealing patterns and colours that are less noticeable in daylight. The colour and strength of the fluorescence vary between specimens and depend on the UV light used.
Commonly mis-sold as “Powellite in Quartz”, this material is offered here as hydrocarbon-included quartz. Hydrocarbons and powellite are different substances, and fluorescence alone does not confirm the presence of powellite.
An interesting addition to a mineral collection, display shelf or collection of UV-reactive specimens. Take a closer look in ordinary light, then compare its appearance under UV to appreciate the details within.
As a natural specimen, variations in clarity, inclusions, surface texture and crystal formation are part of its individual character.
