There are many different methods for cleansing and charging crystals. The most popular method is leaving crystals in the sun to cleanse and recharge.

However, everyone has their own preference in how to charge and cleanse their crystals. The main methods of cleansing your crystals are:

Under running water:

This is another popular method for cleansing crystals, you can use a kitchen tap, a waterfall, or put your crystals in a river.

Earthing and Groundling

You can discharge negative energy from your crystals by either earthing or grounding it. This is a great method when the crystals have absorbed a lot of negative energy. It is recommended to do this for 24 hours but some people recommend at least 2 weeks. You should follow your normal full cleansing process after using the earthing and groundling method.

Leaving your crystals out in the sun for the day is an easy way to cleanse your crystals. However, be aware that some crystals can fade when left in the sun all day – Just keep watch!

Smudging was a popular method used by the Native Americans and involves burning sacred herbs to around the crystal to purify it and cleanse it. The most popular herbs used are Sage, Sweet Grass and Copal. The best method to do this is to hold the crystal in the smoke for around 30 seconds.

Tibetan Singing Bowls or Tingsha Bells

Using a Tibetan Signing Bowl or using Tingsha Bells can also cleanse crystals due the vibrations from the bells or singing bowls.

Placing your crystals on a Bed of Amethyst

Due to Amethyst being a self-cleansing crystal you can place other crystals on a bed of Amethyst which will recharge and cleanse the crystals. I would recommend leaving them on an Amethyst bed for at least 4 hours.
